Welcome Class of 2015!

Welcome to a new school year at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.  Students please join us for Freshman Orientation on August 10, 2011 from 9:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. to receive needed information for your freshman year at Dunbar High.  We ask that parents join us on August 18, 2011 from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. for important information and refreshments.

Be proud of your school. Take good care of it and feel free to make suggestions for improving it. As a school citizen, you are expected to act like a high school student and conduct yourself properly. You have a chance to participate and make a difference.  Every student counts at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.

As a citizen of Dunbar High School, you are expected to follow the rules that have been established for the welfare of the entire student body. Following these rules will help all of you become better citizens.

Please be prepared for your first day here in “Wolverine Country”.  Students should arrive to school daily between 7:15 A.M.-7:45 A.M.  Breakfast begins at 7:30 A.M.  All students are required to be off school grounds by 3:00 P.M.  Also, enclosed you will find a general supply list for the school year.  Individual teachers may require additional items to be purchased.

At Dunbar we are determined to challenge all students to become all they can be. We realize that this can be accomplished only when we work as a team – students, parents, school, and community – in a trusting environment.
