Our Administration

From Superintendent Elizabeth Lolli

Welcome to the Dayton Public School District! Whether you are new to the Dayton Public Schools or are returning for another year, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you.

From our 5-star preschools to our one-to-one technology in classrooms, there is a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to!

To start, our “Be Present for a Better Future” campaign will emphasize the importance of attending school every day. Students can even expect to be rewarded for having good attendance this year. Be sure to use #DPSBePresent to spread the word!

Secondary students continue to enjoy a wide array of Career Technical Classes in their buildings. The ability to earn college credit and prepare for a career is an amazing opportunity. DPS offers a large number of career technical pathways at David H. Ponitz CTC and other DPS high schools. A new Fire Fighting/EMT/Public Safety pathway is now offered at Belmont High School. We are excited to be working with the Dayton Fire Department on this program.

Students in middle and high school can continue to earn college credits — and even work toward an Associate Degree — through the College Credit Plus program. The Dayton Public Schools encourage parents to help their children earn college credits so they are a step ahead when they graduate.

The school year would not be complete without having opportunities in our outstanding music programs! All middle and high school students are welcome to participate in band and choir and can contact their building’s band director for more information about how to get involved. Elementary students also have a great opportunity to enhance their talents and learn music thanks to the purchase of new Orff instruments, which will be available in each classroom. Music in Dayton Public Schools is proudly growing — so get involved today!
